When Nobody Cares Like You Do

Updated: Oct 12

I’ve heard it said that nobody cares about what you care about more than you care about it.

If that’s true, are we all doomed to a life of stagnation if we’re too shy to talk about what needs to change?

I don’t think so.

But I do think it explains why so many of us feel discouraged when our vision doesn’t seem to move forward, at home, at work, or in ministry.

The Truth About Vision

We all lead someone.

Parents lead their children.

Teachers lead their students.

Friends influence friends.

And whether it’s in your home, classroom, workplace, or community. Each of us carries a God-given conviction about something that matters deeply.

The challenge comes when we share that vision once… and nothing happens.

You pour your heart into a conversation, hoping people will understand… and yet, days later, things look the same.

Ever felt that?

Our first mistake is believing that one passionate moment will be enough for people to remember.

But that couldn’t be further from the truth.

People need to consistently see and hear what you believe in.

They need reminders! living, breathing repetition of your values in action.

Repetition Builds Movement

Remind people what the goal is.

Remind them what you’re

doing.

Remind them what the vision is… and why it matters!

Having the courage to repeatedly speak up for the thing God placed on your heart is an act of faith. It takes courage to keep being the mouthpiece for what God’s asked you to carry, especially when you feel like no one’s listening.

And that’s where many of us get discouraged. We think, “They should know by now.”

But truthfully, even those closest to us often need to hear it again.

The Holy Spirit is the one who changes hearts, yes, but our persistence helps prepare the soil.

When I First Started Out

When I first started in ministry, fundraising nearly broke me. I remember thinking, “Does nobody care about the children in our communities?”

I actually had a lady dm me to tell me to take a chill pill.

Looking back, I realize I was just exhausted. People did care, they just hadn’t caught the vision yet.

That season taught me something I’ll never forget:

Nobody cares about what you care about more than you care about it.

That’s not a statement of defeat, it’s a call to ownership.

If God gave you the burden, then you get to carry it forward until others can see what you see.

Keep Casting Vision

So, I kept going.

Kept sharing.

Kept painting the picture of what happens when kids are given a space to be heard and know they’re loved.

Because that’s the vision God placed in me and it’s my conviction  to keep it alive.

Your Turn

So, What’s your conviction?

What’s your passion?

And who do you need to go talk to again to keep moving it forward?

Don’t stop because they didn’t catch it the first time.

Be bold. Be repetitive. Be faithful.

Because sometimes, the breakthrough happens on the tenth time you say it, not the first.
